Please take a brief moment to get to know better new Chamber member:
Jamie Haberman (owner of Class UFC Gym in Mission Viejo), Kim Toennies, and their dog Hunter traveled across the country from NYC to Mission Viejo to build their brand-new boutique gym concept, CLASS UFC GYM. It came about as a result of a chance encounter in Las Vegas with 24-Hour fitness founder/legend, Mark Mastrov, and UFC Gym President, Adam Sedlack. Several of the CLASS corporate executive members are also residents of Mission Viejo.
CLASS UFC GYM MISSION VIEJO is a 3,500 sq ft boutique gym that is currently under construction in Olympiad Plaza and is slated to open in late fall / early winter 2019 and is currently offering Founding Member Pre-Sales reduced rates. It is a gym that offers class-based, month-to-month memberships for all fitness & skill levels. The gym blends wearable technology, small-group based fitness boxing & high intensity interval training (HIIT), and no 2 classes are alike.
There are subtle nods to the UFC’s DNA, but the experience is a completely new and refreshing one: the color scheme consists of electric blues, whites and greys; you won’t find any cages here; the A/V system is on par with something you might find in a nightclub (think blacklight boxing); and there’s no physical contact. This is more of a hang-out for Adriana Lima, as opposed to say, Ronda Rousey. Although all are welcome in this community.
Jamie grew up on a farm in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University, earning a B.S. in Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance. After graduation, he went on to work for PwC where he served clients on Wall Street during the 2008 financial crisis. During his first year in NYC he had $2,000 cash in his bank account, lived in a makeshift bedroom as the 3rdroommate in a 2-bedroom apartment, and inherited $250,000 worth of student loan debt after his father fell ill. This sink or swim situation pushed him to get out of debt and start his own successful solo career, where he now serves large banks and well-known organizations such as the NFL.
Kim grew up in Coronado, CA and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. She is currently a Digital Marketing Manager for a large payments processing company in NYC and has held a variety of positions on the Human Resources front. Her passions include fine food and anything that has to do with animals, particularly dogs.
Hunter is a long-haired English Cream dachshund, who actively manages his 700+ Instagram followers (@everybody_loves_hunter). His favorite snack is freeze-dried liver treats. He enjoys walks in Central Park, opening presents, and his most popular post on Instagram has 80,000 likes.
Welcome Jamie, Kim, and Hunter to the Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce!
