While there has been great focus on providing the intensive, lifesaving care that our sickest COVID patients require, we are concerned that fear of being exposed to COVID-19 may be stopping some from seeking essential emergency and surgical care. I want to assure you that Mission Hospital remains an exceptionally safe place to receive care.
We continue to take the strongest precautions to protect everyone who enters the hospital from COVID-19 exposure. Our physicians and caregivers are highly skilled in infection prevention and treatment protocols, and I assure you that our prevention measures are extensive and thorough. Every day we see patients who have waited too long to seek care, and sadly, have developed more serious complications. Please do not try to manage the symptoms of a life threatening, time-sensitive emergency at home. Mission Hospital continues to be a safe place to receive all types of emergency and critical care. Our top priority is safety. On behalf of every Mission Hospital caregiver and physician, I want to thank you again for your support and encouragement. So many times during the long days and nights of the past few months, we felt as though you were wrapping your arms around us to give us the strength we needed to continue. You are our extended Mission Hospital family and we thank you!
