We thank Orange County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett's Office (5th District) for providing helpful tips on earthquake preparedness from ReadyOC.
Every year California experiences approximately 500 earthquakes that are large enough to be detected and felt by local residents. Since Orange County has a number of seismic faults, earthquakes are almost an expected part of living here. Residents should be prepared by identifying safe places in each room of their homes and taking other precautions such as securing furniture and checking for gas leaks.
Please take a moment to read the lifesaving information provided at http://www.readyoc.org.

While Independence Day celebrations are a summer highlight for many folks, the loud noises from firework displays can cause your pet to become anxious, frantic and try to run away in order to find a safe haven.
A great increase in lost pets is seen each July at the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center, with July 5 being one of the busiest days of the year here and at shelters across the country. Fittingly, July is designated as National Lost Pet Prevention Month.
Here are 5 helpful tips to hopefully save you and your family from the heartbreak of losing a pet over the holiday:

Members of the Communications Committee (John Rodriguez, Diana Moreno, and Elizabeth Elsanadi) and Chamber President, Bob Stewart, met today to discuss some further initiatives to optimize our Chamber Nation website.
The goal of these website optimizations is to provide greater value to each new and existing Chamber member. Soon, enhanced training and tutorials will be provided to the complete Chamber membership. Board Members, Chamber Ambassadors, and Communications Committee Members will also be trained to provide greater support to the general membership as we progress.

A Message from Chamber Member San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E): "Ways to Keep Warm this Winter & Save Money"
More tips from MV Chamber member SDG&E. #espsdge #missionviejo #mvchamber #missionviejochamber
Don’t get caught out in the cold. The near-freezing temperatures we are experiencing this week does not have to translate into higher heating bills.
Residents typically use three to seven times more natural gas for space and water heating during the winter months. While natural gas is the most affordable way to heat our homes, there are simple steps you can take to reduce heating costs.
To reduce your natural gas use, you can take simple steps, like setting your thermostat to 68 degrees when home and 55 degrees when not home.
Other helpful tips include:
WHEN you use energy this year matters. MV Chamber member SDG & E reminds us that, beginning in March 2019, residential customers will begin to switch to "Time-of-Use" pricing plans.
Prices are lower all day except between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. #espsdge #mvchamber #missionviejochamber #missionViejo #chambermembertips
