Orange County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett's Office - Provides Tips on Earthquake Preparedness7/26/2019 We thank Orange County Supervisor Lisa Bartlett's Office (5th District) for providing helpful tips on earthquake preparedness from ReadyOC.
Every year California experiences approximately 500 earthquakes that are large enough to be detected and felt by local residents. Since Orange County has a number of seismic faults, earthquakes are almost an expected part of living here. Residents should be prepared by identifying safe places in each room of their homes and taking other precautions such as securing furniture and checking for gas leaks. Please take a moment to read the lifesaving information provided at http://www.readyoc.org. There are many amazing business owners within the Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce who tirelessly work hard on behalf of their fellow members and the community, including our various committee members (Ambassadors, Communications, Events, Membership), Daybreakers Leadership Team, and our Board of Directors.
This month we are highlighting one of our dear members who displays an incredible volunteer spirit as a Director, Ambassador, Events Committee Co-Chair, and master networker and business relationship builder - Donna Lang Stoffel, of Heightened Health. Donna continuously seeks the advantage of others, works hard to cross-promote her fellow Chamber members, and supports as many events and functions as humanly possible. Heightened Health promotes health and wellness for life by showcasing nutritional products and physiovascular therapy devices, all contributing to a healthy lifestyle. To contact Donna for more information, please call 949-463-0520 or email her at info@heightenedhealth.net. Also, visit her website at www.heightenedhealth.net. Swim meet timers have the most important job and best seat in the house. Two timers are paired up in each lane, without them the meet cannot start. One is responsible for holding a stop watch to time the swimmer’s race, while the other timer jots down the finishing time on the heat sheet. Both timers are responsible for pressing the stop button once the swimmer touches the wall. Although it is a simple job, timers are necessary to run a meet. It is a fun job that allows volunteers to see some fast racing in the first row. Volunteers will receive a shirt, snacks, water, and are promised to have a blast!
